A 1790 Tuscan Villa Outside of Lucca

€500,000??   What's the catch?

In the simplest terms: the astonishing price will bring you all of the benefits of ownership (in particular, possession) although I own, and can sell you, only one-third. My four siblings each own one of the remaining sixths. As a result of family disfunction, they decline to deal with me, including to arrange a joint sale. None of them has any interest in using the villa and they appear to have decided to ignore their ownership. (For more details on what this means for you, click here.)

The photograph above was taken in 1998, two years after the death of my father who had inherited the villa from his father in 1960. Because I've been the only one willing to bear the expense of maintaining the villa, it no longer looks exactly like that. But it's still a marvelous place to relax (or work) in the summer. [You should appreciate that a Tuscan villa is designed to be lived in only during the summer. Heating it would be impractical.]

I'm looking for a congenial Italophile couple/family who are enthusiastic enough to view ownership of the villa as a long-term poposition. I'd be delighted to show you around the villa this summer!

Of course there are lots of details and
you can explore them with these links:

  1. location:   13km northeast of Lucca in the foothills overlooking the Arno valley.
