Villa del Teatro Santucci in Camigliano, Lucca

Lucca's northeast of Pisa, west of Florence, just off the Florence-Pisa Autostrada del Sole. Lucca's well-known for its 16th century fortified walls which remain intact and surround the old city.

[location of Lucca]

The villa's in the area to the northeast of Lucca, toward the city of Pescia.

[Lucca to the villa: 13km]

Once you turn off the Pesciatina heading north, you face the mountains enclosing the Arno valley. The villa is in the foothills, high enough to get a continuous breeze on hot summer days but not so far up as to lose sight of civilization. This Google street-view looks south from the villa gate; you'll approach from that direction.

[looking south]

Turning to face the villa through the gate, we see Rex, one of Antonio's dogs, and the sign "Attenti ai cani". The address is 68 via di Tofori, 55100 Camigliano, Lucca.

[through the gate]

Swinging toward the north, we see Antonio's separate entrance and quarters and the parking semi-circle to the east of the road.

[looking north]

Now that we've seen the approach from the road, we can appreciate an aerial view. This is from the southwest with via di Tofori running uphill from the lower right. The main villa building is in the center of the wall-enclosed plot with Antonio's "dependencia" at the top corner and agricultural storage buildings along the north border. Note the large park on the south and west sides.
